How Can I Make My Lips Fuller?

These days, everyone wants fuller, poutier lips. There are a ton of different cosmetic products out there that promise to plump and accentuate your natural beauty but nothing can compare to the impact that lip filler can have! Injectable lip fillers can give you the perfect pout that you’re after!

However, if you’re new to the world of lip fillers, you might not even be sure what they are and which one is right for you. Keep reading and we’ll tell you everything that you need to know!

Our providers will work with you to choose the best lip shape for you!

Some providers like it when you arrive with a certain lip shape in mind, or even a photo of somebody with famous lips for them to use as a guide. However, we prefer to work together with our patients to determine which lip shape will best accentuate their natural beauty. That way, you won’t look overdone, or have lips not suited for your bone structure.

You should also consider how noticeable you want the augmentation to be. Do you want your friends and family to notice that you’ve “had work done,” or do you want the change to be more subtle?

The size of your natural lips will determine which filler is best for you as well! If you have naturally fuller lips, you might need a filler that gives a more subtle effect, or if you have thinner lips, you might want to have more syringes put in. Our providers will help you decide what’s best for you.

Depending on your beauty goals, we may recommend that you consider a hyaluronic acid filler, a Botox lip flip or both.

Hyaluronic acid is a substance that occurs naturally in our bodies. It’s attracted to moisture and binds to the water in your lips, which makes it less susceptible to lumps or unevenness. Meanwhile, Botox can also be used to accentuate the upper lip a little more subtly.

We will work with you to determine which type of filler will best suit you and help you achieve your dream pout!

Understand that filler isn’t permanent.

Most types of filler generally last between six and twelve months, but this depends on the speed of your body’s metabolism and the amount of filler used. You can always retouch your lips or add more filler later.

A regular lip flip is also a great way to maintain your look. Botox lasts for about 90 days or so.

Don’t stress!

There’s no need to feel anxious about your lip filler treatment. The procedure is fairly quick and essentially pain free! Our patients say the feeling is similar to a dull pinch. We always make sure you’re as comfortable as possible during your treatment

Aftercare is also minimal — you can resume your normal activities once the treatment is over;

just be careful to avoid taking aspirin or any other blood thinners. You may experience some swelling, bruising, or a feeling of tightness, but these sensations will subside within a couple of days. Some people choose to avoid any strenuous exercise for 24 hours post treatment to minimize swelling. Icing on/off for the first day is also helpful to reduce swelling! Over the counter Arnica is also a great option to help any bruising heal quickly.

Your lips might look a little engorged immediately following treatment but rest assured, that’s totally normal! After a few hours the swelling will decrease immensely and within a few days, you’ll feel like you again, just with better lips!

Within a few days, you’ll be able to see your flawless final results! If you have any questions, our providers are always here to speak with you…. Just give us a call! 🙂
